About Us
GBG IS AN ECONOMIC & SOCIAL EVELOPMENT ECOSYSTEM OPERATING IN HAITI AND THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. OUR GOAL IS TO HARNESS HISPANIOLA’S POTENTIAL THROUGH INFRASTRUCTURE AND INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS THAT CREATE LONG-LASTING IMPACTS.
At GBG, our impact is two-fold–our Board of Directors defines overall strategy, general governance guidelines, and onitors performance for our ecosystem of companies, while our management team focuses on providing excellence at every level of the organization.
We bring high caliber services to all of our projects by relying on top-talent and industry best practices that help elevate our services. By thinking and acting as one ecosystem aimed at progress, GBG ensures lasting impacts for the advancement of Hispaniola.
GBG is continuing a legacy initiated by our retired founder, Gilbert Bigio; one that invests in the future of Hispaniola.
Throughout the course of our history, we have invested in a multitude of industrial activities: the garment industry (producing Stride Rite Shoes and Lee Jeans under the Caribbean Basin Initiative), a ship dismantling operation for scrap export, banking (following the purchase of Banque Nationale de Paris’s assets in Haiti), and Telecommunications (pioneering of the use of GSM technology through our historic role in the creation of Digicel Haiti). Most recently GBG has been a pioneer of Lafito Global, an integrated economic zone that includes a Panamax Port, a free zone, a business park, and a residential area, the first of its kind in Haiti.
Across our portfolio of industrial investments found throughout the island, GBG creates the economic conditions for Haiti and the Dominican Republic to thrive. Through these long-term commitments and future ones, we will continue to solidify our legacy by seeking a lasting impact rooted in economic and social progress. Our passion is the people we work with and serve, ensuring a vision towards a brighter future for all.
OUR COMMITMENT IS TO HISPANIOLA. JOIN US IN MAKING OUR VISION A REALITY.

OUR PEOPLE
As a Haitian-born company, we are fully committed to the economic growth and global development of societies. We understand that improving society starts by investing in people’s wellbeing. A child cannot go to school if there is no road to take her.
A farmer cannot cultivate his harvest, if there is no water for his crop. A hospital cannot service its community if there is no electricity for its machines. Through our sustained work in Hispaniola, we are proud to provide the solutions for people’s most basic needs, allowing them to thrive.
